Job summary

RFA Engineering in Dubuque, IA is seeking an Electrical and Software Test Engineer to join our on-site team supporting next generation machines. You will test electrical systems and software, using diagnostic tools and automated testing to ensure readiness for production builds.

The ideal candidate has a background in Electrical, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, hands-on hardware/software integration experience, and strong problem solving and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• This role requires a bachelor's degree in a technical field.
• Experience with both software development and hardware integration is needed.
• Proficiency in languages such as C, C++, C#, Python or similar.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and test equipment is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills are essential.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain end-of-line test systems to support new product requirements.
• Modify and improve test software as products and testing needs evolve.
• Remove outdated code and test functions no longer required.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to include tests in production systems.
• Attend design reviews and project meetings to understand testing needs.
• Create and coordinate work orders for test stand, fixture, and harness updates.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on production test equipment.
• Support validation of updated test systems before production builds.
• Document test procedures, software changes, and system updates.
