Job summary

JLL is seeking an Electrical SME for data centers in Columbus, GA to maintain high‑voltage electrical systems, UPS, generators and PDUs in a 24/7 environment supporting critical digital operations.

The role requires 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience, ability to read schematics and perform advanced diagnostics. You will document maintenance actions and collaborate with facility engineers to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
• Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, and automatic transfer switches.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power quality analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and emergency generators.
• Perform preventive maintenance on critical power infrastructure including battery systems, automatic transfer switches, and PDUs.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and power quality issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and monitoring systems.
• Execute planned maintenance during scheduled windows to minimize client impact.
• Be the first point of contact for service impacting events involving the electrical distribution system.
• Assist in root cause analyses (RCAs) and incident mitigation.
• Be available for after-hours support including 24x7 responses.

What this job involves

As an Electrician at JLL, you will play a critical role inmaintainingthe electrical infrastructure of mission-critical data center facilities.You’llensure the reliable operation of high-voltage electrical systems, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), generators, and power distribution units that support our clients’ digital operations. This position requiresexpertisein complex electrical systemsoperatingin a 24/7 environment where downtime is not an option.

Your day-to-day tasks will include

• Install,maintain, and repair electrical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and emergency generators

• Perform preventive maintenance on critical power infrastructure including battery systems, automatic transfer switches, and power distribution units (PDUs)

• Troubleshoot electrical faults and power quality issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and monitoring systems

• Execute planned maintenance activities during scheduled maintenance windows to minimize client impact

• Respond to emergency electrical issues and power outages with urgency and precision

• Collaborate with facility engineers and technicians tooptimizepower efficiency and system reliability

• Maintainaccuratedocumentation of all electrical work, including maintenance logs, incident reports, and system modifications

• Support electrical upgrades and expansions to accommodate growing data center capacity requirements

• Ensure compliance with all electrical codes, safety regulations, and data center industry standards

• Be the first point of contact for service impacting events involving the electrical distribution system.

• Assistthe team in troubleshooting and mitigating incidents.

• Assistin the creation of root cause analysis (RCAs).

• Be available for after-hourssupportregardingthe electrical distribution systems.

• This includes 24x7 responses.

Desired experience and technical skills

• Minimum 5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience

• Knowledge of UPS systems, generators, and automatic transfer switches

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and technical documentation

• Strong troubleshooting skills using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and power quality analyzers

• Physical ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, andlift upto 50lbs.

• Experience with medium voltage switchgear and electrical distribution systems

Preferred

• Experience with Schneider Electric, Eaton, or similar UPS/power equipment

• Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and electrical monitoring platforms
