Job summary

Wallace Electric Company Inc in Georgia is seeking a Full-Time Service Technician Electrician to join our on-site service team. You will service, repair, and install electrical systems for commercial facilities, with on-call rotation and potential night work.

We value strong communication, OSHA-aligned safety practices, NEC knowledge, and the ability to manage data and reports via field software. A valid electrical license and clean MVR are required; 401K, health benefits, and a company vehicle

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strong commercial/industrial electrical experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain a service vehicle with a clean MVR.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; professional paperwork.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification; safety is a top priority.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate professionally and complete daily paperwork accurately.
  • Respond to customer electrical needs and service requests.
  • Comply with OSHA requirements and company safety policies.
  • Enter data into service management software via mobile device.
  • Prepare reports (Time Sheets, Evaluations, Vehicle Inspections, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and determine repair actions.
  • Install systems per NEC and applicable standards.
  • Request materials, tools, and manpower to complete orders.
  • Manage resources to control budgets.
  • Maintain service vehicle and equipment; supervise assigned personnel.

Service Tech Position

Wallace Electric is in search of a Full-Time Service Technician Electrician to join our Service team.

The Service/Small Project Commercial Electrician will be responsible for servicing and installing electrical systems and equipment.

A Person in this position will service, repair, and maintain systems of all types in a customer's facility during normal working hours and be rotated on-call 24x7. They will also perform small project electrical installations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must be an effective and professional communicator, both written and verbally, filling out daily paperwork correctly.
  • Respond to a customer's electrical needs as directed in a professional manner
  • Understand and implement all OSHA requirements and the company's electric safety policies
  • Accurately enter all necessary data into service management software via mobile tablet or phone to update work orders for tracking, documentation and invoicing
  • Provide any other required reports to management, in a clear, legible and professional manner (Time Sheets, Employee Evaluations, Vehicle Inspections, Etc.)
  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems and determine the best course of action for repairs
  • Install all systems in accordance with the NEC and any applicable standards and specifications
  • Properly communicate all issues to the customer and to management
  • Requisition the necessary materials, tools, equipment, and manpower necessary to complete the work order
  • Effectively manage resources to best control budgets
  • Manage and care for a service vehicle, tools, material inventory, and equipment that are issued to you
  • Manage, train, and develop any manpower assigned to you

Required Skills
  • Strong commercial and industrial electrical background (5 years or more preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills utilizing test equipment
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Ability to safely operate and maintain a specialized electrical service vehicle (License required with clean MVR)
  • Able to maintain professional appearance and conduct at all times
  • Able to demonstrate necessary computer and keyboard skills
  • Ability to manage customer and company specific information and documentation in an organized manner
  • Able to maintain high levels of productivity, meeting deadlines while maintaining accuracy
  • Must be an effective and professional communicator, both written and verbally, filling out daily paperwork correctly
  • Able to be on twenty-four-hour call, on a rotating basis, as needed
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certified. Safety is a top priority
  • Certified to operate a Scissor lift, Boom lift, or Bucket truck but not mandatory. (Training can be provided.)
  • Able to bend and install various types of Conduits.
Schedule
  • 8hr shifts or as needed to complete the workload
  • Monday-Friday (with occasional weekends if needed)
  • Overtime
  • ON Call 24/7 Rotation as needed
  • Possible night work as needed
Compensation
  • Pay Ranges from $25 to $40 per hour (Depending on skills and qualifications)
