Job summary

DeBra-Kuempel seeks an Electrical Service Manager to lead the electrical service department within a union signatory contractor environment. You will oversee day-to-day service operations, supervise union electricians, ensure compliance with CBAs, and deliver safe, profitable electrical service work.

The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, customer relationship management, and deep knowledge of union work rules and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • General Foreman, Journeyman or Master Electrician background preferred.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in commercial or industrial electrical service work.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience in a union electrical environment strongly preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of NEC, OSHA safety standards, and union work rules/CBAs.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple service jobs and priorities simultaneously.
  • Time management skills and attention to service documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, and manage electrical service work including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and small projects.
  • Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, and equipment to meet job requirements and schedules.
  • Review daily service reports, work orders, and job costs to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  • Support estimating, pricing, and change orders for electrical service work.
  • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local codes, company standards, and customer specifications.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support union electricians, foremen, and apprentices.
  • Promote safety and lead site safety meetings; ensure hazard assessments are completed.

Job Summary

DeBra-Kuempel isseekingto fillan Electrical Service Manager position.The Electrical Service Manageris responsible forleading and managing the electrical service department for a union signatory electrical contractor. This role oversees day to day service operations, supervises union electrical personnel, ensures compliance with collective bargaining agreements, and delivers high quality, safe, and profitable electrical service work. The position requires strong technicalexpertise, leadership skills, customer relationship management, and a solid understanding of union work rules and safety standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Service Operations & Project Management
  • Plan, schedule, and manage electrical service work including troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, and small projects.
  • Coordinate manpower, tools, materials, and equipment to meet job requirements and schedules.
  • Review daily service reports, work orders, and job costs to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  • Support estimating, pricing, andchangeorders for electrical service work.
  • Ensure all workcomplies withNEC, local codes, company standards, and customer specifications.
  • Union Workforce Leadership
  • Supervise, mentor, and support union electricians, foremen, and apprentices.
  • Workin accordance withthe applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA), hiring hall procedures, and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Coordinate with union representatives as needed to maintain positive labor relations.
  • Ensure proper manpower levels, training, and skill alignment for service tasks.
  • Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and craftsmanship consistent with union standards
  • Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and union safety requirements.
  • Lead safety meetings and ensure jobsite hazard assessments are completed.
  • Investigate incidents, near misses, and customer complaints, implementing correctiveactionsas necessary.
  • Promote continuous improvement in safety performance and training
  • Complete company directed annual safety training
  • Complete (4) monthly site safety visits
  • Customer Relations & Business Development
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for service customers and facility managers.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Respond to service requests, proposals, and emergency calls in a professional and timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service work, maintenance agreements, and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with estimating and leadership teams to grow the electrical service department.
  • Administrative & Financial Oversight
  • Track service job costs, productivity, and departmental performance metrics.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and labor planning for the service department.
  • Ensure proper documentation including work orders, timesheets, permits, and close out paperwork.
  • Utilize service management or work order software effectively.
