Job summary

Seattle City Light in Seattle is seeking an Electrical Service Engineer to provide professional engineering direction for large, complex electric service installations for commercial, industrial and government customers. You will report to the Electrical Service Engineer Supervisor and coordinate with design teams and field staff.

The role emphasizes applying electrical engineering principles to review plans, develop and revise service requirements, and deliver timely service and pricing

Qualifications

• Requires a minimum of five years of professional electrical engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent background) is required to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional engineering direction for large, complex electric service installations for commercial, industrial and government customers.
• Assist customers and representatives in engineering new or revised electrical systems with protective relaying and control schemes.
• Review plans to ensure compliance with City Light requirements and prepare analyses to promote efficient electrical utilization.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors and other agencies during planning, design and construction of large projects.
• Develop and revise utility policies related to electrical service requirements and rates.
