Job summary

AE2S is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Senior Project Engineer to lead electrical design and project delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure. You will oversee power distribution, I&C, and SCADA across multiple locations, driving quality, reliability, and long-term performance from planning through construction.

You will mentor teams, collaborate across disciplines, and help deliver impactful solutions for communities, while ensuring safety and compliance with industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical system design experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, compliance practices, regulations, and standards.
• Adept in providing guidance and strategic leadership to mid-level, senior-level, and project members.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, standards, and regulations related to electrical distribution, lighting, and I&C/SCADA systems.

Responsibilities

We’re growing and seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Senior Project Engineer to lead electrical design and project delivery for water and wastewater infrastructure projects across multiple locations. This is a high-impact, senior-level role for an engineer who thrives in power systems, instrumentation & controls (I&C), and SCADA while leading multidisciplinary teams. You'll work on water treatment and distribution systems, wastewater treatment and collections systems, electrical power systems (low & medium voltage: <1000V and >1000V), and Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and SCADA systems.

You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering infrastructure that directly supports communities—bringing projects from planning through construction with a focus on quality, reliability, and long-term performance.

Basic

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical system design experience.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Preferred

• 5+ years of Electrical Engineering experience in water and/or wastewater treatment
• Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
• Medium voltage experience
• Project management experience
• Scope and fee development specific to electrical design

Physical

• Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrain
• Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time
• Occasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist
• Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weight
• May require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Ability to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
• May be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to, flame resistant clothing, hard hat, and protective footwear
• May require occasional evenings and weekends with overtime expectations varying with workload
• May be required to travel to off-site locations including occasional overnight stays out of town
