Job summary

CEMEX in Brooksville, FL is seeking an Electrician to perform repair and maintenance across our sand division equipment used in production. You will support electrical installations, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance to keep equipment running reliably.

A strong candidate has 5+ years in electrical maintenance in heavy industrial settings, with knowledge of up to 4160 volts, PLCs, and reading blueprints. English fluency is required; bilingual candidates are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications.
  • Ensure repairs meet manufacturer standards; maintain safety compliance.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to OSHA/MSHA rules.

Job Summary

An electrician performs all types of electrical jobs throughout the sand division. Electrical jobs include maintenance and installation of equipment and machinery used in production and manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical work and repairs on industrial/mining equipment
  • Install, adjust and maintain all electrical equipment, gauges and instruments
  • Troubleshoot, evaluate and coordinate electrical needs, repairs and modifications
  • Ensure that manufacturer's standards of repair and maintenance are performed on all equipment
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
  • Maintain good housekeeping
  • Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards
  • Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management
Qualifications
  • 5 years electrical maintenance experience. 3 years' experience in aggregate, cement or heavy industrial operations preferred
  • Power distribution experience or understanding up to 4160 volts
  • Programmable logic control and digital drive experience
  • High school graduate. Prefer Associates Degree or equivalent in electrical maintenance experience
  • Be able to read, write, and speak English
  • Bilingual a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Computer literate and able to use existing systems and grow into company networked program of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes. SAP experiences a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to details
  • Strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Able to read and understand English sufficiently to be able to read technical information contained in manuals, reports and related instructions
  • Able to develop, read and use mechanical, electrical and structural sketches, blue prints and drawings
  • Good mathematic/mechanical aptitude
Working Conditions
  • Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
  • Must wear protective equipment while at the location
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills and experience with motor control circuits and relay logic.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and work as a team member, as well as individually
Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
  • Heavy Work-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and /or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment
  • Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls
