Job summary

Precision Castparts in Morgantown, PA is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to optimize safety, quality and productivity in daily plant equipment maintenance and drive continuous improvements in availability and throughput.

You will lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs, investigate failures, develop cost justifications, and supervise technicians while coordinating with operations to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in preventive and predictive maintenance in heavy industrial manufacturing.
• Experience with high voltage electrical systems and power supply.
• Maintenance engineering or supervisor experience preferred (3–5 years).
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering completed.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for electrical safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities.
• Responsible for electrical safety investigations and corrective actions.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs to improve equipment availability and throughput.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and production losses, with on-call support.
• Supervise and schedule daily work for plant electronic technicians.
• Analyze production delay data to document/modify preventive maintenance tasks.
• Prepare and review root cause analysis reports and determine corrective actions.
• Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
• Develop work orders for improvement projects and ensure completion.

Job description

Responsible for electrical maintenance engineering activities to maximize safety, quality and productivity in the daily maintenance of plant equipment in order to drive continuous improvements to equipment availability and throughput.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for electrical safety design modifications and improvements to equipment and facilities.
• Responsible for electrical safety investigations and corrective actions.
• Responsible for developing, documenting, and improving preventive maintenance programs in order to support the improvement of equipment availability and throughput.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for equipment failures and loss of production. Assist maintenance and provide technical guidance required to return equipment to operation so as to minimize downtime and lost production. Provide “on call” support.
• Supervise and schedule daily work for plant electronic technicians.
• Responsible for analyzing production delay data for establishing and documenting or modifying preventive maintenance tasks. Generate continuous improvement projects based on production delay data.
• Prepare and review equipment failure/root cause analysis reports and determine/evaluate corrective action items and the impact of corrective action items to the preventive maintenance programs.
• Develop cost justifications for improvement projects and corrective actions.
• Develop work orders to detail work requests needed to implement improvements projects or corrective actions. Follow-up and audit to ensure proper completion.
• Coordinate outside contractor work activities with maintenance personnel or production personnel as required to minimize impacts to cost and production.
• Responsible for critical spare parts assessments and parts standardization.
• Responsible for developing and implementing standard operating procedures, training, and skill development for electricians and electronic technicians.
• Determine and install appropriate performance metrics that will promote long-term continuous improvement programs consistent with the operating objectives of the department.
• Provides support for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
• Perform Project Engineering duties.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

Formal training or experience with Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.

Maintenance Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor position with a minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience preferred

• 5+ years experience in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment; experience with high voltage, electrical and power supply and lead on project upgrades in a manufacturing facility.
