Job summary

Linde in The Woodlands, TX is seeking an Electrical Reliability Engineer to analyze data and enhance predictive maintenance across electrical assets. You will guide the implementation of monitoring tools and partner with global teams to advance reliability and safety.

You will mentor others, drive continuous improvement, and travel to production sites as needed. A B.E./B.S. in Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in industrial settings are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 10+ years of experience supporting electrical systems in chemical, refining, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and enhancing predictive maintenance and monitoring technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of electrical equipment and power systems used in production plants.
  • Strong understanding of asset reliability, maintenance strategies, and performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to improve operational reliability, safety and productivity through technical expertise.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional engineering and operations teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for critical electrical equipment and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze operational and equipment data to enhance predictive maintenance and lifecycle cost performance.
  • Lead implementation and continuous improvement of predictive monitoring tools for electrical assets.
  • Collaborate with external service providers, global engineering teams, and vendors on monitoring technologies.
  • Serve as SME for electrical diagnostics, PD analysis, transformer health monitoring, and SEL systems.
  • Drive reliability initiatives to improve plant productivity and equipment performance.
  • Provide training and technical guidance on electrical monitoring tools and maintenance best practices.

Electrical Reliability Engineer

The Woodlands, TX, United States

What you will enjoy doing
  • You will analyze operational and equipment data to enhance predictive maintenance, reliability, safety, and lifecycle cost performance while supporting ongoing development of electrical analytics and monitoring technologies.
  • Broad expertise in MV/LV motors, transformers, switchgear, power distribution systems, and supporting IT tools.
  • Lead the implementation, integration, and continuous improvement of predictive monitoring tools and applications for electrical assets across multiple sites.
  • Further, you will partner with external service providers, global engineering teams, reliability centers, plant leadership, and vendors to advance monitoring technologies, equipment development, and operational best practices.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for electrical equipment troubleshooting, diagnostics, RCFAs, and defect resolution, leveraging lessons learned across the organization.
  • Drive productivity, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on electrical system performance and asset optimization.
  • You will provide training and technical guidance on electrical monitoring tools, predictive technologies, and maintenance best practices.
  • Expert knowledge of transformers, motors, switchgear, and power distribution systems, with experience in electrical diagnostics including PD analysis, transformer health monitoring, and SEL systems.
  • Familiarity with motor startup procedures, control systems, industrial networks, and IT tools.
  • You have strong analytical, conceptual, and data science skills, including analysis of complex, high-volume datasets to identify trends, risks, and reliability opportunities.
  • Willingness to travel to production sites to support operations and reliability initiatives throughout the organization.

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • More than ten (10+) years of experience supporting electrical systems within chemical, refining, or other industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and enhancing predictive maintenance and monitoring technologies.
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical equipment, power systems, and applications used in production plant operations.
  • You have a strong understanding of electrical asset reliability, maintenance strategies, and equipment performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to apply technical expertise to improve operational reliability, safety, and plant productivity.
  • Experience working in complex industrial environments with cross‑functional engineering and operations teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills related to critical electrical equipment and systems.
