The Electrical Reliability Engineer will provide day-to-day technical expertise and reliability support for the power distribution and major electrical equipment at the site. The successful candidate will join an integrated team, including process chemical, mechanical, and other Engineers. The responsibilities of the position include solution of electrical reliability problems, identifying and implementing electrical equipment improvements, and leading teams and/or projects for longer-term improvements and utility cost-savings initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Electrical discipline preferred) or relevant experience.
10 years of relevant experience in maintenance, engineering, reliability, and controls systems preferred.
Required skills and competencies: Communication, interpersonal relationships, facilitation, influencing. Must be able to develop others and foster relationships with site-based personnel, including Plant Managers, Maintenance Managers, Operations Managers, Engineers, and Maintenance Technicians.
While performing the duties of his job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee must be able to wear and operate in all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which includes hard hats, ear plugs, safety glasses, goggles, fall protection harnesses, chemical exposure suits, and respirators. The employee may occasionally work near chemical processes with toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles, fumes, extreme heat, extreme cold, vibration, and electrical hazards.
This position is safety and security sensitive in nature. This position deals with hazardous materials and/or industrial processes that can pose a risk to employees and the general public. These facilities are required to comply with security standards under Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and/or the United States Coast Guard.
The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering projects on-time, on-budget, and in accordance with safety and environmental compliance regulations. The Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project outcomes.
