Hitachi Energy is seeking an innovative Electrical R&D Engineer to join our LiquidFilled Distribution Transformers team. You will collaborate with a global network of experts to turn forward-thinking concepts into prototypes and help shape the next generation of transformer technology.

This role offers freedom to explore ideas, solve complex design challenges, and influence products that support a more sustainable energy future.

Formación

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2+ years of electrical design experience, ideally in transformers.
• R&D experience in a business or industrial environment is beneficial.
• Knowledge of magnetic, dielectric, or thermal design preferred.
• Familiarity with FEM or 2D circuit simulation tools is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset.

Responsabilidades

• Contribute inventive electrical design ideas to R&D projects
• Lead or support initiatives aligned with time, cost, and quality objectives
• Coordinate prototype manufacturing and testing activities
• Design and execute experiments to validate technical solutions
• Document project progress and develop design rules from findings
• Participate in intellectual property discussions and risk evaluations
• Provide technical support to factories, marketing teams, and customers
• Collaborate with global R&D peers to optimize electrical designs
• Support costout initiatives and design portfolio development for the South Boston location
