Job description

Job Title: Electrical Quality Technician

Division:Blackstone-Ney

Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor BNU

Exemption Classification: Hourly, Non-exempt

Do you have a passion for electronics, troubleshooting, and figuring out why something isn’t working—and how to make it work better?

Join our manufacturing team as an Electrical Quality Technician and become the final technical checkpoint before our ultrasonic cleaning systems reach the customer. You’ll put your electrical and mechanical expertise to work testing, troubleshooting, inspecting, and fine-tuning complex industrial equipment to make sure every machine meets our high standards.

This is a hands‑on role where your attention to detail directly impacts the quality and performance of the products we deliver.

What You'll Do

As our Electrical Quality Technician, you’ll be responsible for making sure our equipment is operating exactly as it should before it leaves our facility.

Your day‑to‑day will include:

  • Test & Fine‑Tune: Perform final testing and adjustments on ultrasonic cleaning systems to verify proper operation before shipment.
  • Troubleshoot Like a Pro: Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic issues down to the component level, including replacing chips and other components on circuit boards.
  • Verify Performance: Use test equipment such as oscilloscopes and volt/multimeters to collect data and confirm machines meet engineering specifications and performance requirements.
  • Be the Final Quality Check: Thoroughly inspect completed equipment for electrical, mechanical, dimensional, cosmetic, and other potential non‑conformities before it ships to the customer.
  • Analyze the Details: Verify ultrasonic power output falls within established specifications and work with Project Management when results fall outside acceptable parameters.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and other departments to identify quality issues and develop solutions.
  • Solve Problems: Identify process and product issues, determine potential solutions, and help ensure problems are addressed before equipment reaches the customer.
  • Support Our Customers: Occasionally assist customers with troubleshooting and technical questions related to their equipment.

In short: you're the last line of defense between our machines and our customers—and we take that responsibility seriously.

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys hands‑on problem solving and isn't intimidated by complex equipment.

You'll be successful in this role if you have:

  • An Associate degree in Electronics OR 2–3 years of relevant hands‑on experience.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, volt/multimeters, and other electronic test equipment.
  • A solid understanding of electrical and electronic systems.
  • The ability to read and work from electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic schematics.
  • A working understanding of PLC‑controlled automation, pneumatics, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical specifications and engineering requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Basic algebra and the ability to calculate percentages and perform more advanced mathematical calculations when needed.
  • Computer proficiency and the ability to learn new software, databases, and technology.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members across the organization.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a passport, as occasional travel may be required.
What It’s Like to Work Here

Most of your time will be spent on or near our manufacturing floor, working directly with the equipment you're testing and inspecting.

You’ll work in a temperature‑controlled environment with moderate noise and a team of people who take pride in building high‑quality industrial equipment.

This is a physical, hands‑on position. You’ll need to be comfortable sitting at a workstation for periods of time, as well as reaching, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds consistently.

Why This Role Matters

Our equipment isn't simply something we build and put in a box. It represents our reputation.

As the Electrical Quality Technician, you’ll play a critical role in protecting that reputation. You’ll make sure the equipment leaving our facility is safe, functional, reliable, and ready to meet our customers’ expectations.

If you enjoy electronics, troubleshooting, precision, and solving problems that others can't, we’d love to hear from you.
