Job description

The Electrical Quality Control Manager will be responsible for project oversight of Electrical Quality Control throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This includes review and documentation of engineering deliverables, VDC coordination, prefabrication, material and equipment receipt, customer‑furnished equipment, contract drawings, project specifications, RFIs, submittals, field installation, start‑up, testing, commissioning, and project closeout. The role works closely with project teams, customers, and field personnel to ensure compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and operational expectations while supporting successful project execution.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, implement, and manage project‑specific Quality Control programs, including quality meetings, customer documentation, internal tracking systems, deficiency logs, and rework documentation.
  • Interface with internal project management, field operations, engineering, and office staff to ensure compliance with contract documents, project specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary quality control representative in customer‑facing and general contractor meetings regarding project quality performance, issue resolution, and compliance matters.
  • Review and document deficiencies related to design, installation, processes, start‑up, testing, commissioning, and closeout activities while coordinating corrective actions and resolution efforts.
  • Monitor receipt, tracking, and documentation of electrical materials, equipment, and customer‑furnished equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality expectations.
  • Assist in development, implementation, and modification of quality plans, reports, procedures, and project documentation.
  • Support project closeout activities including final quality documentation, turnover packages, and commissioning records.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to take verbal and written direction and provide accurate responses, reports, and related documentation.
  • Ability to manage, receive, transmit, and maintain project documentation electronically and through various software platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical construction systems including Data Centers, Electrical Switchgear, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), Batteries, Static Transfer Switches (STS), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Power Distribution Units (PDU), Medium Voltage systems, Protective Relays (SEL preferred), Metering, Transformers, and Distribution Power systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D plans, shop drawings, specifications, and construction documents in both electronic and hard copy formats.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and modify quality plans, reports, and tracking systems as needed.
  • Ability to identify, document, track, and communicate field deficiencies and corrective actions effectively.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes within electrical construction environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with field personnel, project management teams, customers, and subcontractors.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and related project documentation software.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office

Non‑Office: Full‑time project field office environment with daily observation and coordination within active construction sites and field operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, or 4 years of electrical experience combined with 4 years in a related MEP field.
  • Minimum 2 years of Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Knowledge and experience performing and/or observing electrical construction activities.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting mission‐critical or data center construction projects.
  • Experience with commissioning, start‑up, and electrical systems testing processes.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation procedures.
  • Electrical Engineering degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional construction and engineering teams.
