Job summary

OXY, Inc. in Seminole, Texas is seeking an experienced Electrical Specialist for our ORCM Production Operations unit.

The role requires a strong electrical background, sound safety judgment, and collaboration with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, HSE, and contractors to ensure safe, compliant plant performance. The successful candidate will perform QA/QC inspections, verify work against drawings and codes, review contractor packages, and document findings to support reliable, efficient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 10+ years of industrial electrical, maintenance, commissioning or related experience.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA and related electrical standards.
• Ability to read drawings, one-line diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to travel to field locations as required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field QA/QC inspections of electrical installations, maintenance work, repairs, upgrades, and construction activities.
• Verify electrical work conforms to approved drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and applicable codes.
• Inspect equipment: MCCs, switchgear, panels, transformers, generators, UPS systems, motors, VFDs, and control systems.
• Review contractor work packages, test plans, commissioning checklists, turnover packages, and QA documentation.
• Witness and document electrical testing activities and startup/commissioning support.
• Identify nonconforming work, issue punch-list items, and verify corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, photos, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Participate in pre-job planning, hazard analyses, and project meetings.
• Support development of QA/QC procedures and safety practices.
