Job summary

Ace Electric is seeking an Electrical QA/QC Foreman to lead quality control initiatives on mission-critical electrical construction projects. The role emphasizes implementing quality programs, coaching teams, and ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety standards on work sites.

The Foreman will work with QCx teams to manage documentation, inspections, testing, and coordination with field and management to drive continuous improvement across projects.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret specifications, submittals, diagrams and other contract documents.
  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Experience in a decision-making position, self-motivation, and analytic mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a quality culture that embraces "Implement Quality from the Start" and coach continuous learning to improve project efficiency and quality.
  • Identify areas for improvement while implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Drive the implementation of the Quality / Commissioning Program on projects, focusing on site quality plans, policies, and procedures through planning, training, and documentation.
  • Manage verification and documentation for Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment, ensuring conformance with submittals and Equipment Protection Plan.
  • Collaborate with the construction and QCx teams to schedule and conduct FOD inspections prior to energization on MV/LV equipment.
  • Torque bolts and fasteners to specified tolerances and ensure proper assembly and safety standards.
  • Conduct megger testing on feeder wires to ensure insulation resistance and electrical safety compliance.
  • Maintain inspection records, torque reports, megger reports, and related items.
  • Assist in First Time Energization (FTE) process from start to finish.
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly meetings and coordination activities when the QCxM cannot.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of processes, systems, and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare Daily Quality Reports documenting field discrepancies and corrective actions.

General Summary:

The Mission Critical Quality / Commissioning ( QCx ) Foreman will work with QCx project teams to implement and apply project specific quality control program s and procedures. The QCx Foreman will also assist the QCx Manager in the oversight of QCx specific procedures, checklists, plans, forms, and logs.

Preferred Job Skills :

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
  • Must be able to read and interpret specifications, submittals, single-line diagrams and other contract documents.
  • Ability to work under pressure, while closely tracking QC details of multiple project activities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to create documents, analyze data, and communicate effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on, working environment.
  • Must have experience in a decision-making position, be self-motivated, and have an analytical mindset.
  • Experience collaborating with field and management to understand and implement technological and Quality programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the implementation of the Quality / Commissioning Program s on projects, focusing on core programs including site specific quality plans, policies, and procedures on projects through proactive planning, training, support and by sharing lessons learned.
  • Manage the verification and documentation for all Owner Furnished Contractor Installed (OFCI) equipment, ensuring the conformance with the approved submittal while adhering to the Equipment Protection Plan.
  • Collaborate with the construction team, and QCx team to schedule and conduct Foreign Objects and Debris (FOD) inspections prior to Energization on MV / LV SWGR, MV / LV XFMRs, Panelboards etc.
  • Responsible for accurately torquing bolts and fasteners to specified tolerances, ensuring proper assembly and safety standards are met.
  • Conduct megger testing on feeder wires to ensure proper insulation resistance and electrical safety compliance.
  • Maintains correct and accurate inspection records, torque reports, megger reports, and other related items.
  • Assist in the First Time Energization (FTE) process from start to finish .
  • Support / participate in required daily, weekly, and monthly meetings ( i.e., daily Cx , scheduling, coordination, pre- energization, and staffing meetings) when the QCxM cannot .
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of processes, systems, and documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare Daily Quality Reports documenting field discrepancies and audit findings while supporting corrective actions.
  • Support investigations into quality-related incidents, conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions , establishing preventative measures to minimize future incidents.
  • Identify and assess quality risks associated with Mission Critical operations.
  • Other duties assigned, including temporary assignments, training assignments, and other related duties.

  • Education: High School Graduate or GED required .
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years electrical construction, Quality Control, or Commissioning experience required .
