Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) is hiring an Electrical QA/QC Agent to resolve quality control challenges and implement QC plans across mission-critical facilities.

The role requires a technical or associate degree in an electrical-related field and at least five years of electrical testing experience, including work in mission-critical spaces. Travel up to 75% may be involved, with on-site work balancing remote duties.

Qualifications

• Technical or associate degree in electrical-related field, engineering, or construction management from an accredited technical institution or college.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in electrical service or electrical equipment testing.
• A minimum of two (2) years in mission-critical space.
• Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines, including fire protection, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process, and lighting systems.
• Experience with both primary and emergency service on state-of-the-art critical systems. Expertise in fire detection/suppression, building monitoring systems, diesel generators, medium voltage switchgear, UPS systems, and power distribution equipment.
• Fundamental knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery.
• Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
• Knowledge and understanding of electrical codes, standards, specifications, and shop drawings with the ability to interpret them.
• Proficiency in utilizing applicable technologies, including computer/software, data loggers, and test and measurement equipment.
• Valid driver’s license and state-required vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

• Perform periodic site walks to ensure adherence to procedures and best practices, including assisting general contractors and their site superintendents with inspections as required.
• Deliver a daily report detailing completed tasks or inspections and provide information regarding issues supported by relevant codes or standards.
• Collaborate in a team environment, including mentoring, delegating work, and giving/receiving constructive feedback.
• Onsite expectation 100% if placed on a site within the region; travel up to 75% if on sites out of region, balancing onsite and work-from-home duties.
