Our client is an established Electrical Contracting Firm that is a leader in the Data Center / Mission Critical Facilities Market. They build mission-critical facilities for data center facilities nationwide for Enterprise, Colocation, and Hyperscale Companies. We are looking for an Electrical Construction Project Manager to support critical facility construction projects. The Electrical Construction PM will be responsible for managing projects from cradle to grave: estimates, project completion, procurement, and post-implementation support. They will handle all aspects of managing a data center construction project and provide leadership to contractors and vendors associated with the delivery of the company's electrical projects. The successful candidate will be exceptionally organized and proficient in back-office work (change orders, budgets, process-driven tasks, etc.). An ideal candidate has progressed through the ranks in Electrical trades on the commercial side of business.

Responsibilities:

  • Project focus will be in the 3-10 mm range, focusing on upgrades, retrofits, and swap out of electrical equipment in a live/production setting.
  • Data Center projects will be the focus, but work will include other industries as well: Healthcare, Education, Industrial, etc.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFIs to generate regional work in the Raleigh area.
  • Generate estimates, prepare and review project proposals to determine and establish time frames, work plans, and funding limitations.
  • Maintain all logs required to track the progress of the project.
  • Oversee the project through administrative direction of on-site supervision to ensure the project is built following design, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, negotiating contracts with vendors as necessary.
  • Lead the planning efforts in implementing manpower and managing the integration of projects and timelines for internal projects on customer sites.
  • Ensure that all day-to-day project responsibilities are met by the contractors and vendors on the project.
  • Follow OSHA standards with a strong emphasis on job site safety and adherence to company policies and national safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing Data Center Construction Projects as a General Contractor.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience in People and Resource Management.
  • Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical trade.
  • Experience interpreting blueprints and specifications - both electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years relevant experience in the Data Center Construction Industry.
  • Client-facing and client management skills.
  • Effective communicator – emails, phone, and face-to-face.
  • OSHA Certification or ability to obtain one within the first 12 months of employment.
  • Computer savvy: MS Project, Excel, Teams, Oracle Primavera P6, Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD a plus.
