Job summary

McGraw Kokosing is seeking an experienced Project Engineer/Manager to support large-scale electrical systems for industrial construction projects in Middletown, OH. You will oversee project budgets, schedules, and controls, manage vendor relations, and handle submittals and procedures to ensure successful completion.

The role requires 6+ years of construction project experience and a degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of construction project engineering/management experience.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Experience with IBEW is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions including planning, estimating, procurement, design review, project controls, and work assignments.
• Ensure engineering activities comply with requirements and support the construction schedule.
• Develop timely project cost estimates or bids using self-perform labor where applicable.
• Prepare contract documents to obtain quotes from vendors for materials and equipment.
• Interface with departments on budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and other activities involving discretion and judgment.
• Review engineering plans and vendor submittals; convert successful estimates into projects.

Job Description

This individual will support a team through the implementation of electrical systems for large‑scale industrial construction projects. They will be involved in mission‑critical projects, taking the project from pre‑construction through final acceptance to successful competition. The role is directly responsible for project budget, schedule, and job controls, vendor management, submittals and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including planning, estimating, procurement, design review, project controls, and work assignments.
• Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall construction schedule.
• Develop timely project cost estimates or bids, depending on client requirements, utilizing self‑perform labor.
• Prepare contract documents to obtain quotes from vendors for material, equipment, and other specialty items.
• Interface with departments, divisions, and internal staff on budgeting, staffing, employee discipline, training, development, scheduling, and other activities involving discretion and judgment.
• Review engineering plans and vendor submittals.
• Convert successful estimates into projects.
• Monitor assignments to ensure services are performed as specified.
• Conduct field visits and spot checks of work performed.
• Ensure compliance with county, state, and OSHA policies and regulations.
• Participate in staffing plans, cost code creation, budget preparation, and business planning efforts.

Education and Experience

• 6+ years of similar construction Project Engineer/Manager experience.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Previous work with IBEW is a plus.
