Qualifications

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will lead design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects and collaborate with senior staff on larger, high-complexity projects. You will provide engineering solutions and advice to clients while supporting budgets, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. The work supports healthcare and MEP projects while advancing high-performance, energy-efficient design aligned with MEP2050 and AIA2030. **At a Glance****Location:** St. Louis, MO**Discipline:** Electrical**Markets:** Healthcare; MEP**Ownership:** 100% employee-owned (ESOP)**Travel:** Up to 15%**Work Schedule:** Full-time hybrid**Sponsorship:** Not available **What You'll Do**· Lead the analysis and design of electrical systems, creating detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.· Engage clients to gather project requirements, communicate technical information, and build professional relationships.· Support consulting-project execution through project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.· Document client design decisions and instructions, and monitor design progress against percent complete and fee expended.· Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical, efficient solutions.· Perform in-process reviews of electrical system designs, calculations, and specifications, and implement IMEG quality control processes.· Stay current on electrical engineering trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, contributing to research, development, and innovation efforts.· Prioritize safety and identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with electrical systems.· Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals.· Identify potential project problems, seek guidance from the Project Manager, and oversee projects through bidding and construction administration. **What You'll Bring** **Required Education**· Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, required· Professional Engineer (PE) License required**Experience**· 5 years of experience minimum required, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry **Required Skills/Abilities**· Proficiency in design techniques, tools, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications· Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings.· Proficient with industry standard engineering software and tools including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; power system analysis and design software such as SKM/PTW, Easy Power, or other; energy code compliance and software such as ComCheck; Adobe or Bluebeam Revu· Knowledge of Illumination Engineering Society (IES) Standards.· Proficient with the use of reference material resources such as NFPA Link, TechStreet, MadCAD, and Facility Guideline Institution (FGI)· Knowledge of Master Specification editing and software such as eSPECS, BIM software, and CTC Revit Add In Tools; Proficiency of Smart Engineering Design Assist (SET) Tools within Revit for electrical calculations, coordination, properties, etc.· Strong training and mentoring skills· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups· Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills· Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook· Ability to travel up to 15% with occasional overnight stays **About the Team**· Service mix is healthcare-led, with strong activity in acute care, outpatient, MOB, children’s, academic teaching, and community hospital work.
