Job summary

Cuhaci Peterson seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead engineering calculations and system design in Phoenix, AZ. You will work per established policies, standards, and codes with minimal supervision, applying practical knowledge to resolve project conflicts and educate clients on design requirements.

Requires a BS in Electrical Engineering, PE license, and 8+ years of experience. You will mentor staff, manage budgets and schedules, and deliver construction documents that meet project goals.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required; PE license preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to perform engineering calculations and layout/design with minimal supervision.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering calculations and design systems per policies and codes with minimal supervision.
  • Apply practical knowledge to resolve project problems and conflicts.
  • Make independent design decisions for projects.
  • Supervise designers and engineers as needed.
  • Know discipline-specific and building codes.
  • Communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Educate clients on design and project requirements.
  • Meet with Project Engineer and Manager to discuss scope, schedule and budget.
  • Prepare design budgets and schedules with the team.
  • Estimate man-hours for design tasks.
  • Lead and assign design work to team members.
  • Implement chosen system types and produce construction documents.
  • Review drawings with other disciplines; ensure coordination.
  • Conduct final design reviews and client interactions.
  • Perform quality assurance with the technical manager or project engineer.
  • Mentor and motivate engineering designers; uphold integrity.
  • Meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality.

Individuals may occasionally supervise subordinate personnel or assist other engineers or designers.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good leadership skills to educate client on design and other project requirements.
  • Meet with the Project Engineer and the Project Manager to discuss the design scope, schedule, budget, phasing, site issues, and design review issues.
  • Work with Project Manager and Project Engineer to prepare design budgets and schedules.
  • Estimate discipline man-hours required to complete the design requirements of a project.
  • Provide leadership and assign design job functions to designated designers and supervise their efforts in completing the project on time and within budget.
  • Implement system types as selected by the Project Engineer and provide complete.
  • construction documents that match the client and project team's requirements.
  • Review preliminary and final engineering design with other disciplines for function, clearances, coordination, and final design selection.
  • Perform a final review of the engineering drawings.
  • Client contact.
  • Perform quality assurance on projects in coordination with technical manager or project engineer.
  • Mentor and motivate Engineering designers I, II and III. Set high standards, Professional integrity and seeks for the company and client best interest.
  • Ability to meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality design. Additional duties as required.
