Job summary

Dewberry Engineers Incorporated in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to lead power systems studies as part of the MEPS Infrastructure team. You will develop and implement robust electrical design strategies for diverse clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of progressive design and project management experience, with a minimum of 2 years performing power system studies.
• Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in North Carolina.
• Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
• Well organized, with a strong understanding of electrical power system software, applicable codes, national standards, and electrical safety.
• Attend client and contractor meetings and prepare meeting minutes.

• Perform electrical engineering analysis such as short circuit studies, arc flash studies, and related power system analyses.

• Prepare electrical engineering calculations, code analysis, reports, specifications, project schedules, and cost estimates to meet project requirements.
• Serve as the Electrical Project Engineer of assigned projects and execute designs with minimal oversight.
• Conduct site visits and field inspections of electrical systems.

We are looking for a dynamic professional to lead the development of cutting‑edge power systems studies, including load flow analysis, fault current assessments, overcurrent coordination, and arc flash evaluations. At Dewberry, you will be part of one of the most esteemed electrical teams in the Raleigh area, comprising over 30 dedicated electrical design professionals. Collaborate with a group of highly skilled experts committed to designing the electrical infrastructure that powers healthcare facilities, higher education institutions, and federal campuses.

In this role, you will enhance your technical expertise in microgrids, medium‑voltage distribution, SCADA, and comprehensive power system studies while delivering a full spectrum of services to our national clients. As a member of the MEPS Infrastructure electrical team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of renewable energy, helping our clients achieve their decarbonization and electrification objectives. Your innovative designs will integrate cogeneration, solar generation, battery energy storage systems, and sophisticated control systems, ultimately enhancing the reliability and resilience of the nation’s infrastructure.
