Job summary

Henkels & McCoy West in California seeks an experienced electrical transmission engineer to prepare plans, estimates, and drawings for overhead and underground projects. You will review field data, participate in major replacement programs, and coordinate with clients and agencies to meet project requirements.

The role requires hands-on CAD work, field data interpretation, and strong communication within a team. Knowledge of CA PUC standards and OH/UG design is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in electrical transmission and/or distribution projects.
• Familiarity with Power Delivery design standards and OH/UG construction.
• Experience reviewing field data and applying latest codes/techs.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction plans, material requirements, and cost estimates.
• Create preliminary and detailed drawings by hand or CAD.
• Assist in conduit and structure replacement projects.
• Review field data and photos to meet client needs.
• Coordinate access to facilities when applicable.
• Meet with clients to gather technical requirements.
• Translate wind/pole loading and compliance forms.
• Work in a team environment and communicate clearly.
