Job summary

Instinct is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Lincoln, Nebraska facility on a full-time basis. You will perform maintenance and machine repair to support production, handle special projects, and help keep the plant running efficiently.

We value mechanical aptitude, ladder logic reading, VFD knowledge, and the ability to read electrical drawings. English fluency and a high school diploma are required. Travel may be needed to other facilities.

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Install, modify, operate and maintain plant equipment.
  • Respond quickly to production calls regarding equipment breakdowns.
  • Keep production running with minimal downtime.
  • Coordinate with Production and Maintenance leadership on repairs.
  • Perform PM activities when time permits.
  • Work on special projects as determined by Maintenance Manager.

Position Summary

This position presents an opportunity to be a full-time member of a maintenance team with significant professional growth potential. The Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties to support the greater team. The majority of the time will be on general maintenance tasks and machine repair to ensure the smooth operation of the production process, but will also do special projects and preventative maintenance when not doing work necessary to keep production running.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Perform installation, modification, operation and maintenance of all facets of the plant.
  • Quickly respond to production calls regarding equipment breakdowns.
  • Work to get the production process going in the most efficient manner possible, minimizing down time to the greatest extent possible.
  • Prioritize working on multiple repair requests on an urgency basis, requiring coordination/communication with the Production and Maintenance leadership teams.
  • Alert the Maintenance Lead or Manager of any unusual breakdown or damage to plant or equipment.
  • Work on special projects as determined by Maintenance Manager.
  • Perform PM activities as time permits.

  • Computer proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement.
  • Ability to work during periods of extreme weather and in other emergency situations. This may include summer heat, winter cold, and respond to storm damage.
  • High school education.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred Experience
  • Electrical/Mechanical 2-year degree and/or experience equivalent
  • Experience with electrical systems, wiring, and basic electrical repairs.
  • Experience with programming / controls of Robotic systems and PLC integration.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations, building codes, and OSHA requirements.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent squatting, kneeling, stooping, and bending.
Travel Requirements

May travel to other facilities. Valid motor vehicle operator’s license required.
