Nucor Insulated Panel Group in Prince George, VA is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to support continuous manufacturing operations. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on industrial electrical systems, controls, and automation equipment to keep production lines running smoothly.

The role emphasizes reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and collaborating with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• 2‑year degree in Industrial Electrical Technology, Electrical Maintenance, or related field OR 3+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to safely work with voltage up to 600V for industrial electrical systems.
• Basic computer skills (CMMS usage, Microsoft Outlook and other Apps).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, motor starters, VFDs, and soft starters; 480V/277V/120V power distribution systems; control panels, MCCs, and electrical enclosures.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and control systems to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Troubleshoot and support PLC‑based control systems, including I/O, sensors, HMI interfaces, and basic ladder logic diagnostics.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and one‑line drawings.
• Assist with startup, commissioning, and continuous improvement of new or modified equipment.
• Collaborate with mechanical maintenance, engineering, and operations to resolve complex equipment issues.
• Accurately document work performed, electrical changes, and PM activities.
• Support plant utilities and facility electrical systems as required.
