Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to convert maintenance requirements into safe, complete work plans and coordinate labor, materials, and contractors for electrical infrastructure in our large-scale facility.

You will build detailed job plans, maintain schedules, verify resource availability, coordinate outages, manage CMMS backlogs, and prepare work packages for daily and D-1 approvals.

Qualifications

  • 9+ years in electrical maintenance, planning or industrial facility operations.
  • Experience with electrical safety, LOTO, and planned outage coordination.
  • Experience building maintenance work packages and coordinating multiple crafts/contractors.
  • Experience using a CMMS or computerized maintenance management system.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed job plans including scope, labor, duration, tools, materials, permits, LOTO, drawings, and step plans.
  • Build and maintain weekly, two-week, and long-range electrical maintenance schedules.
  • Verify parts, resources, approvals, and equipment access before scheduling.
  • Coordinate planned outages and maintenance with Operations, Engineering, CCR, Safety and contractors.
  • Manage preventive, corrective, and reliability-maintenance backlogs within the CMMS.
  • Prepare work packages for daily and D-1 operational approval meetings.
  • Identify scheduling conflicts, risks and alarms affecting facility systems.
  • Track planned vs. actual labor, duration, and material usage to improve estimates.
  • Monitor schedule compliance, overdue work, contractor performance and maintenance KPIs.
  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance procedures and CMMS data quality.

Position Summary

The Electrical Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for converting maintenance requirements into safe, complete, and executable work plans. This position coordinates labor, materials, contractors, approvals, equipment availability, and operational requirements for electrical infrastructure supporting a large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facility.

Role and Responsibilities
Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:
  • Develop detailed job plans, including scope, labor, duration, tools, materials, permits, LOTO requirements, drawings, and step plans.

  • Build and maintain weekly, two-week, and long-range electrical maintenance schedules.

  • Verify that parts, resources, approvals, and equipment access are available before work is scheduled.

  • Coordinate planned outages and maintenance activities with Operations, Engineering, CCR, Safety, and contractors.

  • Manage preventive, corrective, and reliability-maintenance backlogs within the CMMS.

  • Prepare work packages for daily and D-1 operational approval meetings.

  • Identify scheduling conflicts, operational risks, and work that may generate alarms or affect facility systems.

  • Track planned versus actual labor, duration, and material usage to improve future estimates.

  • Monitor schedule compliance, overdue work, contractor performance, and maintenance KPIs.

  • Support continuous improvement of maintenance procedures, job plans, asset data, and CMMS work-order quality.

Skills and Qualifications
Here’s what you’ll need:
Minimum Qualifications
  • Nine or more years of experience in electrical maintenance, maintenance planning, scheduling, or industrial facility operations.
  • Working knowledge of electrical distribution equipment, LOTO, electrical safety, and planned outage coordination.
  • Experience developing maintenance work packages and coordinating multiple crafts or contractors.
  • Experience using a CMMS or computerized work-management system.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in semiconductor, data center, manufacturing, utility, or other critical-facility environments.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, and electrical preventive-maintenance practices.
  • Experience with medium-voltage distribution, substations, switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, VFDs, generators, or protective relays.
  • Experience planning contractor-supported maintenance and reliability testing.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, scheduling software, and maintenance-performance reporting.
Success in This Role
  • Success will be measured by work-package readiness, schedule compliance, PM completion, backlog reduction, accurate labor estimates, effective resource coordination, and the safe execution of maintenance with minimal operational disruption.

The current base salary range for this role is between $41.00 - $55.00/hour. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
