Job summary

Georgia Power, the leading electric subsidiary of Southern Company, is seeking a Maintenance Planner (Electrical) to plan, schedule, and coordinate both online and offline maintenance activities for a major plant in Georgia. You will develop detailed work plans, estimate labor/materials, and ensure safe, efficient execution across Operations, System Owners, contractors, and vendors.

Ideal candidates will have 3+ years in power plant maintenance/operations and Journeyman Electrician experience,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of power plant maintenance or operations experience preferred.
• 3+ years of Journeyman Electrician experience preferred.
• Planning and scheduling experience is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of power plant systems, equipment and operations.
• Experience with work management and planning software (Maximo, CiM, MRS, Tableau, Primavera, MS Office, Teams).
• Ability to adapt and collaborate across teams with strong communication.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across levels; vendor interaction.
• Knowledge of O&M and Capital Budget processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety in all activities.
• Manage work management by prioritizing and validating requests.
• Review and reduce maintenance backlogs for efficiency.
• Develop and maintain a rolling four-week maintenance schedule.
• Create detailed job plans and work packages to boost productivity.
• Identify and procure materials needed for maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate schedules with Operations, System Owners, and vendors.
• Develop outage work packages for planned and forced outages.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce costs.
• Build relationships with vendors and external service providers.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
• Evaluate inventory stocking levels to meet needs.
• Ensure planning activities meet the Southern Generation Playbook.
