Job summary

A nationwide technology service provider is seeking experienced Journeyman to perform electrical installations and repairs in retail and commercial settings. This full-time role requires adherence to safety standards and the ability to travel extensively across the U.S. Responsibilities include managing project documentation and assets while maintaining strong communication with clients. Qualifications

  • Experience in retail, commercial, and industrial electrical settings.
  • Ability to travel extensively across the U.S.
  • Strong communication in verbal and written forms.
  • A valid electrical license issued by your state of residence is required and must be maintained in good standing.
  • Must have the ability to travel across the United States for several weeks at a time.
  • Flexibility to work second and third shifts.
  • Strong client / people relationship skills
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure or willingness to learn.
  • Phone, mobile application & PC proficiency (MS Office preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics related to installation SOWs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs. and work on lifts/ladders.

Description

This role is ideal for commercial Journeymen with experience in retail, commercial, & industrial settings. Our technicians & electricians work on nationwide deployments, infrastructure upgrades, and large-scale rollouts for some of the world’s largest brands, gaining exposure to the latest networking technologies and installation practices.

This role is dispatched from home, meaning you can live anywhere within the region and travel directly to project sites. Reporting directly to our Field Services Manager of the region, this role will require travel to any US state as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Strict adherence to safety standards and ensure everyone goes home.
  • Installation, troubleshooting & repair of electrical systems and circuits in retail, commercial, & industrial settings to meet National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.
  • Installation of EMT conduit pathways, wire & breakers.
  • Maintain as-built drawings and service records.
  • Experience with MAC (Move, Add, Change) type projects in retail, commercial, & industrial settings.
  • Manage and accurately log time, expenses, material, & field resources throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage work orders, signoff deliverables, daily log / journal, and other project documentation, sometimes directly to customers, project management & leadership teams.
  • Management and maintenance of company assets & vehicle (if assigned).
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must demonstrate the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Must understand and demonstrate a safety mindset in all settings.
  • A valid electrical license issued by your state of residence is required and must be maintained in good standing throughout employment.
  • Must have the ability to travel, often extensively and sometimes with little notice to anywhere in the United States for several weeks at a time.
  • Flexibility to work the hours of the traditional second and third shifts.
  • Strong client / people relationship skills
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure, structured cabling, & telecommunication equipment or the willingness to learn is strongly preferred.
  • Phone, mobile application & PC proficiency required (Microsoft Office applications strongly preferred).
  • Ability to read and understand prints and schematics related to installation SOWs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license & be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).
  • Meet company standards for pre-employment background checks and drug screening.
  • Typical physical demands include frequent work on lifts, ladders, and possibly rooftops and other harder-to-access areas.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with employees and / or clients; manual dexterity required for frequent reaching, climbing, and lifting of objects (typically up to 50 lbs.), and operating power tools.
  • Must have industry-standard hand tools.
