Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical transmission and distribution systems, ensuring safe and reliable power delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair overhead/underground lines, substations, and related equipment (transformers, switches, cables, streetlights).
- Perform pole climbing, equipment installation, cable termination, and energized ("hot line") work using proper tools and safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot outages, test systems, and restore service; support planned and emergency operations.
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical infrastructure.
- Operate tools, heavy equipment, and perform physically demanding tasks in various environments.
- Maintain safety standards, documentation, and equipment; assist in traffic control and system switching.
- May supervise/train apprentices and coordinate with teams and the public.
Qualifications
- Journey-level Electrical Lineworker certification with 3.5–5+ years of experience.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety regulations (OSHA, NEC), and linework practices.
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions.
- Valid Class A/B driver’s license and required safety certifications (e.g., HAZWOPER, CPR/First Aid).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
