Job summary

VFP, Inc. is seeking a grounder responsible for installation, alteration, and repair of electrical grounding systems and fixtures according to VFP standards. You will interpret drawings, operate power tools and cranes, and maintain safety and housekeeping in the production area.

The role requires ability to climb ladders, follow instructions, and communicate effectively. Day-to-day tasks include preparing production sheets, lighting installation, and collaborating with Grounder A as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally and in written form
• Ability to perform basic mathematical formulas
• Ability to understand and follow simple one to two-step instructions given verbally or written
• Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the electrical trade and necessary safety precautions
• Skill in the use and care of tools and equipment

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings for various grounding conditions as defined by customer requirements
• Remain familiar with grounding procedures and standards as applied to VFP
• Operate according to all safety procedures and use of equipment including power saws, power cutters, cranes, and hand/air tools
• Climb ladders
• Maintain good housekeeping and keep work area clear
• Prepare daily production sheets with accurate job numbers and codes
• Cross-train with other jobs and assist Grounder A
• Install lighting fixtures
• Use basic hand and air tools

Responsible for the installation, alteration and repair for electrical grounding systems, equipment, and fixtures according to VFP standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Interpret engineering drawings for various special grounding conditions as defined by the customer requirements from these drawings
• Remain familiar with all grounding procedures and standards as applied to VFP on requirements
• Operate according to all operating and safety procedures, all equipment used in the department to include power saws, power cutters, overhead cranes, and hand and air tools
• Must have the ability to climb ladders
• Maintain good housekeeping practices to include keeping the work area clean and neat and making sure the aisles are clear of equipment, cords, tow motors, etc.
• Prepare daily production sheets using accurate job numbers and production codes
• Cross-train with other jobs in the department and assist Grounder A when needed
• Install lighting fixtures
• Must have the ability to use basic hand and air tools
• Other duties as assigned
