Job summary
Bunge is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician in Council Bluffs, IA to maintain plant-wide electrical systems and automation. The role focuses on troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and instrumentation while reading schematics and ensuring safe, compliant operation.
You will operate Monday through Friday day shifts, work with Allen-Bradley PLCs, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Health benefits, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement are among provided perks.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in electronics or 3–5 years of equivalent experience.
- Ability to read and understand ladder logic.
- Experience with Control Net, Ethernet, and Data Highway networks.
- Familiarity with process instrumentation and plant equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain automation throughout the facility (electrical circuits up to 480 VAC).
- Troubleshoot and repair high voltage lighting, VFDs, and AC/DC systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Allen-Bradley PLC systems (SLC 500, MicroLogix, CompactLogix, PLC5, 5000).
- Check DC controller outputs and replace printed circuit boards as needed.
- Read blueprints/schematics and calibrate/process instrumentation.
- Assign IP addresses to new equipment and ensure compliance with standards.
