Job summary

Hargrove and Associates, Inc is seeking an experienced electrical and instrumentation design professional to lead the complete design of complex systems. The role involves producing installation details, MCC single lines, room layouts, and power/lighting plans under minimal supervision.

You will assist on-site during startup and guide junior drafting staff, coordinating with the discipline lead to ensure scope and criteria are communicated clearly.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is required.
Experience with electrical and instrumentation design.
Ability to produce installation details, 480VAC and 15kV/5kV equipment specs under review.

Responsibilities

Produce installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts and power/lighting plans.
Create cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding diagrams under minimal supervision.
On-site assistance during startup and coordination with staff and discipline lead.

What You'll Be Doing Job Scope

Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete design of complex electrical and instrumentation assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level requires extensive progressive experience in electrical and instrumentation design and involves applying advanced design techniques and analysis. This position requires some supervision of less experienced personnel. This work will be performed under general supervision.

Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
Recognizing and communicating project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
Producing installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under minimal supervision.
Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
On-site assistance during startup.
Providing technical guidance to less experienced drafting personnel in the department.
Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.
Producing 480VAC equipment specifications with engineering review and approval.
Producing 15kV/5kV equipment specifications with engineering review and approval.
Producing electrical installation specifications with engineering review and approval.
Complete understanding of the skills and experience required to perform design functions.
