Job summary

Sutphen East in Pennsylvania is seeking an Electrical assembler to fabricate and install components on our fire apparatus. You’ll work with the manufacturing team to wire cab and subframe assemblies, read drawings, and complete required paperwork.

The role requires experience with 12VDC and 120/240 VAC systems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to travel occasionally as a representative of the company. Monday–Friday, day shift with benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in safely operating power tools (drills, saws, grinders).
• Experience in mechanical and electrical trouble shooting.
• Experience in mounting and installing accessories.
• Ability to investigate and diagnose electrical problems reported on assembled vehicles.
• Excellent communication skills with excellent work ethic.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work with little to no supervision

Responsibilities

• Pre-wire fire apparatus body and sub frame.
• Install electrical wiring for fire truck cabs, pumps, and ladders.
• Install electrical wiring for hydraulic compartments & compartment doors.
• Perform electrical testing and inspections (all wiring and connections).
• Operate all electrical functions during pre-pump testing and final pump testing of vehicle.
• Experience in vehicle electrical installations.
• Understand 12VDC and 120/240 VAC electrical systems.
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and electrical schematics.
