Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Inspection & Testing Electrician to perform electrical inspection, testing, fault finding, maintenance, and certification across water and wastewater facilities. You will ensure compliance with BS 7671 and deliver safe, reliable operation of critical water infrastructure.

You will work at multiple sites including Scarbrough, Ripon and Harrogate, with a focus on safety, quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
• City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out periodic inspection and testing of electrical installations in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
• Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and associated certification.
• Conduct fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
• Inspect, test, and commission new electrical installations.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
• Work on a range of electrical equipment including: LV distribution systems Motor control centres (MCCs) Pumps and pumping stations Variable Speed Drives (VSDs) Control panels Instrumentation and telemetry systems
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company procedures and industry regulations.
• Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance activities, and certification documentation.
• Liaise with clients, site personnel, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
• Participate in site safety briefings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments.
• Adhere to all health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
