Job summary

Ferrara/KME is seeking a fabrication assembler to build wiring harnesses and install circuit modules, relays, diodes and harnesses across diverse assemblies and chassis.

You will perform mechanical assembly of control panels, verify installations, read engineering drawings, use tape measures, calipers and other tools, and maintain documentation while working safely in varying conditions. You may participate in continuous improvement and quality checks.

Qualifications

• Must possess HS Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must be able to read and understand English.
• Must be able to accurately read tape measure.
• Must be able to twist, bend, stoop, kneel, stand, squat, crawl, and climb.
• Must be able to perform overhead work.
• Must be able to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day on concrete surfaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted and up to 80 pounds team lift.
• Must be able to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions including but not limited to outside heat in excess of 95 degrees for up to 10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform wiring harness fabrication and install components, circuit modules, relays, diodes and harnesses.
• Handle mechanical assembly and wiring of electrical control panels, AC/DC drives, motors, and other devices.
• Design and fabricate electrical boxes for installation of components.
• Drill, edge fill, fit and assemble detail parts and assemblies, including cutting openings in bodies to accommodate wire and components, using hand tools and power tools.
• Inspect for proper installations and integrity.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications, blueprints and schematics.
• Maintain necessary documentation and records.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Perform assembly operations on structural and mechanical sub/assemblies, equipment and accessories.
