Job summary

Exum Instruments Inc. in Denver, CO is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer II to own the hardware lifecycle of our mass spectrometer instruments.

You will take custom PCBA designs from concept to production, bridge electrical and mechanical teams, manage sub-assembly wiring, and guide our hardware through global regulatory standards. Your role includes leading PCBA design, electro-mechanical integration, harness routing, high‑voltage system handling, and pre‑compliance for FCC/CE/UL/IEC

Qualifications

3–5 years of hands-on hardware design experience in lab, scientific, or medical instrumentation.
Proficiency with ECAD tools and electrical test equipment.
Strong grounding architectures and EMI/EMC mitigation understanding.

Responsibilities

PCBA design: multi-layer schematic, component selection, PCB layout with signal integrity and power distribution.
Electro-mechanical integration: package electronics within tight constraints, manage thermal performance.
Harness & wiring management: design and document internal wiring harnesses and routing across subsystems.
High voltage systems: integrate and test off-the-shelf HV supplies for ToF-MS operations.
Regulatory compliance: pre‑compliance layout for FCC, CE, UL/IEC 61010 or 62368-1.
