Job summary

Consolidated Edison Company of New York is seeking a supervisory role to oversee mechanics in the maintenance and repair of underground transformers and network protectors. This position focuses on safety, productivity, and adherence to regulations across Shop and field operations.

The role requires 3–7 years in Electric Operations with supervisory experience; a BS degree or equivalent experience qualifies you to lead teams in dynamic field environments. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years’ experience in electric distribution or equivalent.
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5 years experience in electric distribution or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years supervisory experience preferred; 5–7 years in Electric Operations field organization preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise work related to reconditioning, rebuilding, engineering analysis and testing of electric distribution equipment in Shop and field.
  • Provide engaging job briefings, including HPI and precursor messaging.
  • Must ensure safety, environmental and productivity goals are met.
  • Ensure employees complete work according to procedures and regulations (OSHA/EPA).
  • Coordinate flow of work and monitor productivity; maintain high standards.
  • Review and update Shop operating procedures and ensure quality.
