Job summary

Primoris Energy Services is seeking a Field Engineer to provide planning and technical support to the construction team. You’ll act as the front-line contact to resolve technical issues and assist with WorkFace Planning, including work packaging and status updates.

Additional duties may include Change Order Management, quality control, completions, and supporting the Project Manager based on experience and aptitude.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years field engineering experience in industrial projects (power, petrochemical, or similar).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with scheduling and project management software is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Team-oriented and collaborative.

Responsibilities

• Project management: oversee field operations, ensure on-time delivery within budget and quality.
• Technical support: guide project teams, troubleshoot issues, generate RFIs and track impacts.
• Site inspections to verify progress and compliance with specs.
• Planning: follow WorkFace Planning to provide work packages aligned with schedule.
• Reporting: prepare status reports on schedule, progress, staffing, safety and issues.
• Coordination: liaise with project managers, contractors and stakeholders.
• Documentation: maintain up-to-date project records and submittals.
• Quality control: implement procedures to meet specs.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management: Oversee and manage field operations to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues. Generate Requests for Information (RFIs) with Clients and/or Subcontractors and track their impacts on project scope, schedule and cost. Review project Specifications, Standards and Drawings from Clients, Subcontractors and Fabricators.
• Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, ensure compliance with specifications, and identify potential issues.
• Planning: Understand the Project Schedule and follow WorkFace Planning best practices to ensure the field personnel have the Work Packages to execute in alignment with the schedule.
• Reporting: Prepare project status reports addressing schedule, progress, staffing, safety and open issues.
• Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and monitor delivery and review of documents, drawings, and submittals.
• Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet the required specifications.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all field activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Education: BS Mechanical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering or relevant equivalent experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in field engineering, preferably in power generation, petrochemical, or similar industrial projects.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with engineering, scheduling and project management software tools is an advantage. Strong understanding of construction and engineering principles.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate
