Job summary

Intermountain Electric, Inc. (IME) is seeking an Estimator I to develop accurate cost estimates for electrical systems by reviewing project docs and analyzing requirements. You will collaborate with project teams to support budgets and monitor costs throughout the lifecycle.

The role focuses on reviewing scopes, incorporating contingencies, tracking spend, and identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining detailed records and staying current with market trends.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent.
• Estimating experience preferred and applicable education may be combined.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints, specs, and design documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical systems.
• Analyze project scope, timelines, site conditions, and risks to ensure estimates are complete and accurate.
• Incorporate contingencies into estimates to safeguard IME’s profitability.
• Track project costs and compare actual expenditures against estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to align objectives.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring designs stay within budget.
• Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, proposals, and specifications.
• Monitor market trends, labor rates, material pricing, and tech advancements to support estimate accuracy.
• Evaluate risks associated with project bids and consider impacts during estimating.
• Additional duties as assigned.
