Job summary

Loenbro, LLC is seeking an Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical construction. You will analyze plans, specs, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing while coordinating with project managers and vendors to develop robust bid packages.

You will review risks, identify value engineering opportunities, and ensure NEC/compliance across bids while maintaining estimating databases and historical data for future opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of commercial electrical estimating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of commercial electrical systems, methods, and materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with estimating software such as Accubid, ConEst, McCormick, Bluebeam, or Trimble.
• Field electrical construction experience.
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
• Experience estimating large commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, or data center projects.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems and components.
• Develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare complete bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Analyze project risks, opportunities, and scope gaps.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project walkthroughs.
• Coordinate with project managers and field leadership during project handoff.
• Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and historical cost information.
• Review change order requests and prepare cost impacts as required.
• Ensure estimates comply with NEC requirements, local codes, and customer specifications.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to improve project competitiveness.
• Support contract negotiations and clarification meetings with clients.
• Track bid results and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.

The Commercial Electrical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial electrical construction projects. This role analyzes project plans, specifications, labor requirements, material costs, subcontractor pricing, and project schedules to develop comprehensive bid proposals. The estimator works closely with project managers, operations teams, vendors, subcontractors, and clients throughout the bidding and preconstruction process.
