Job summary

Roadway Electric, a subsidiary of FlatironDragados, is seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator in the Scottsdale area to prepare project estimates by analyzing specifications and plans. The role focuses on ensuring cost-effective quantities and construction methods align with pursuit, schedule, and price goals.

The candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of estimating experience, with knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Software and strong technical writing skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in construction estimating or cost control preferred.
• Knowledge of HCSS Heavy Bid Estimating Software.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Growing knowledge of alternative construction delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Reviews proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and contents of estimate.
• Reviews and incorporates historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports into unit and person-hour figures.
• Provides technical input regarding project and contract risks to lead estimator for final bid price approval.
• Prepares discipline estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and material quantities from drawings.
• Monitors client addendum and advises estimating team on changes during the estimate period.
• Assists with design review options and recommends best solution based on cost and material availability.
• Partners with estimating team to conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit and project management teams.
• Researches and recommends vendors and subcontractors for designated scopes of work to achieve pursuit and cost goals.
