Job summary

Ferguson Electric is seeking an Estimator to develop comprehensive cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The role collaborates with project managers to produce accurate bids and complete proposals.

The ideal candidate will perform detailed takeoffs, manage RFI and addenda processes, and coordinate insurance and bid-form requirements while leveraging estimating software to ensure bid accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Acquire bid documents.
• Attend pre bid meetings and review specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work.
• Perform accurate takeoffs.
• Set up estimates to allow for advanced manipulation of data, enabling the generation of estimate breakdowns for bid analysis, scheduling input, and bid form requirements.
• Submit Requests for Information (RFI).
• Process Addenda.
• Coordinate with administrative staff for insurances, Bid Bonds, and Bid Form completion.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Use estimating software proficiently.
• Vet proposals and Bills of Materials for completeness.
• Project a professional image to clients and colleagues.
• Ensure bid accuracy.
• Identify and anticipate potential risks.
• Determine lead time for non-stock and special-order items known at bid time.
• Other duties may be assigned based on needs of various divisions across the company.
