Job summary

What You Will Do

• Produce precise electrical estimates for various project types, including large commercial, industrial, high‑tech, vertical high rise, and health care facilities.
• Work independently or under the direction of a designated project lead.
• Read and understand civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, tele‑data, security, fire alarm, audio‑visual plans, and specifications as they relate to the electrical work.
• Demonstrate an understanding of, and clearly communicate, the estimated scope of work.
• Develop project take‑offs and equipment counts based upon the specifications and drawings.
• Utilize technology tools to perform and document electrical budgets (BlueBeam, Accubid, LiveCount preferably).
• Utilize an understanding of basic circuitry and wiring methods for electrical systems.
• Participate in the estimating team and review meetings and clearly define your estimate work product.
• Provide support and training of estimating processes, procedures, and systems for junior estimators, interns, and other team members as necessary.
• Contribute to and support value engineering exercises.
• Contribute to scope letter content.
• Perform other duties as requested.

What You Will Need To Be Successful

• Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or 5+ years of electrical estimating experience and/or training in commercial, industrial, high‑tech, vertical high‑rise, and health‑care industries; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with preparing, completing, explaining, and reviewing complex estimates with the Chief Estimator.
• Experience with delivery models: Plan & Spec, Design‑Assist, and Design‑Build. Quick learner to grasp existing estimating processes and procedures.
• Experience with the appropriate application of a wide variety of electrical materials and methods of installation as it relates to database materials and assemblies to individual estimates.
• PRIME is a fast‑paced environment, and a strong work ethic is required.
• Must have strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of NEC, local codes, and construction methods.
• Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, BlueBeam and/or Accubid and LiveCount.
