Job summary

Plesh Electric LLC in Central NJ is seeking an experienced Estimator to take ownership of the estimating function for a growing contractor. This high-volume, fast-turnaround role includes site visits to gather data, takeoffs from plans, and producing accurate bids quickly to stay competitive.

You will coordinate supplier pricing, manage material lists, and ensure bids reflect real costs. Proficiency with QuickBooks or estimating software and 2+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of construction estimating experience (any trade).
• Ability to read and interpret construction prints and specifications.
• Professional communication skills.
• QuickBooks experience or strong comfort with estimating/job cost software.

Responsibilities

• Own the full bid pipeline from takeoff to submission — produce accurate, complete estimates on time without being in the loop for every quote.
• Coordinate supplier pricing, lighting quotes, and material lists so every bid reflects real market costs.
• Manage QuickBooks input and maintain clean records of all active bids, awarded jobs, and pipeline status.
• Collaborate with Tony and crew leaders to ensure field realities are reflected in estimates — no surprises after award.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to improve pricing, lead times, and material availability.

Job description

Tony Plesh runs every estimate personally. He's been doing it for 30 years. That ends with this hire. Plesh Electric is a 30-year electrical contractor in Central NJ — generator installations, service upgrades, panel work, and full residential and commercial projects. We've built our reputation on showing up when we say we will and doing work that reflects our name. We're growing fast. The goal is $5M, four to five crews running simultaneously. To get there, we need someone to take the estimating function completely off his plate — and own it.

This is a high-volume, fast‑turnaround role in a growing shop that does not slow down for bad days. You'll be going out to locations for site visits for estimates and taking off construction plans — residential rewires, panel upgrades, generator systems, remodeling, commercial projects — and producing accurate, complete bids fast enough to be competitive. This is not a slow‑paced office role. Plesh is growing aggressively. The bid pipeline is going to grow with it. If you need a lot of hand‑holding to stay organized or you need to be chased down for updates, this will not work. If that sounds like a grind, this isn't for you.

• 10+ years of experience.

Compensation

$85,000 - $115,000 yearly
