Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering with ≥2 years’ equivalent experience.
• General knowledge of electrical principles and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• General knowledge of negotiated bids, hard bids, and GMP processes.
• Proficient with estimating technology and tools such as OST, Accubid, Tra-ser, and BIM related software.
• Excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong math and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Attention to detail and solid interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates McCarthy core values and a value-added approach to estimating.

Responsibilities

• Support conceptual and detailed design of solar electrical systems.
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for complex projects.
• Assist in pricing and bidding of commercial, renewable, substation, and battery storage projects.
• Support electrical system design analyses and coordination with engineers and consultants.
• Prepare qualifications, assumptions, and contract exhibits for subcontracts.
• Participate in Design Build, Hard Bid and GMP budgeting activities with subcontractor input.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and vendors to gain competitive advantage.
• Represent McCarthy at industry events and with internal clients.
• Keep current with estimating tech and safety programs.
