Job summary

M1 Support Services is seeking an Electrical Environmental Specialist to support Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi. The ideal candidate will maintain electrical/environmental systems per specs and coordinate across teams.

This permanent role requires two years’ recent experience and the ability to obtain a flight line license if needed. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance actions, CAMS documentation, and adherence to safety, FOD control, and housekeeping standards

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of aircraft electrical/environmental systems and the use of schematic diagrams, drawings and charts.
• Knowledge of technical publications, maintenance directives and maintenance forms.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Minimum of two years’ recent experience as an aircraft electrical/environmental specialist.
• May be assigned to obtain/maintain flight line driver license and possibly CDL.

Responsibilities

• Maintains electrical/environmental systems per technical data requirements.
• Performs tasks under minimum supervision and coordinates activities with senior personnel.
• Performs on- and off-equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Repairs, replaces assemblies, and makes adjustments during troubleshooting.
• Inspects and maintains electrical/environmental equipment and documents actions in CAMS.
• Promotes safety, tool control, FOD awareness and housekeeping at all times.
• May perform special certifications (Red X) when needed.
• May be assigned to TO files, bench stock, CTKs, or hazardous waste areas.
• Shall assist other personnel and remain customer oriented with Operations and base agencies.
• May be required to be qualified in APG activities when assigned to SGF.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Maintains electrical/environmental systems IAW technical data requirements.
• Performs tasks under minimum supervision.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with senior electric/environmental personnel as required.
• Performs both on and off-equipment maintenance.
• Troubleshoots electric/environmental systems to isolate malfunctions.
• Makes necessary repairs, replaces assemblies, and makes adjustments as indicated during the troubleshooting phase.
• Performs inspections and maintenance on electrical/environmental equipment.
• Performs repairs of electrical/electronic and environmental systems.
• Annotates maintenance actions in aircraft records and is knowledgeable in CAMS documentation.
• Practices good housekeeping, tool control, FOD awareness/prevention, and safety at all times.
• May be selected to perform special certifications including Red X inspections, if no qualified volunteers, then most qualified person may be selected.
• May be assigned to maintain TO files, bench stock, shop stock, CTKs, or hazardous waste areas.
• May be required to be qualified on different MDS aircraft.
• Shall assist other personnel and work centers as directed.
• Must promote Company values, policies, and standards of conduct.
• Must be customer oriented and ensure professional coordination with Operations and other base agencies.
• When assigned to a Sortie Generation Flight (SGF), required to be qualified in APG activities.
• Shall perform other duties assigned to include TDY and travel.
• Must be able to work day shift, night shift, or weekend duty as required.
• Receives cross-utilization training and is qualified to perform those maintenance tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A working knowledge of aircraft electrical/environmental systems and of the use of schematic diagrams,
  drawings, and charts is required.
• Must possess a working knowledge of technical publications, maintenance directives, and maintenance forms.
• High school diploma or the equivalent is required.
• Specialized courses in aircraft electric/environmental systems are required.
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
• A minimum of two years’ recent experience as an aircraft electrical/environmental specialist is required.
• When assigned to SGF, recent experience for assigned aircraft is required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a flight line drivers license and may be required to obtain and maintain a class CDL.

• Physical exertion requirement is medium.
