Job summary

TotalEnergies is seeking Electrical Engineering students for its Summer Internship at the Port Arthur, TX refinery. You will work in the Refining & Chemical division, gaining hands-on plant experience and exposure to field operations while pursuing a BS in Electrical Engineering, graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.

The program emphasizes safety, practical engineering calculations, process monitoring, and collaboration with operations teams.

Qualifications

Working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, graduating between December 2027 and May 2029.
GPA of 2.8 or higher.
Computer knowledge: spreadsheets, process simulation software helpful, SAP familiarity.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Good problem-solving skills.
Good physical fitness for access to towers, vessels, and equipment.

Responsibilities

Monitor/track unit performance with observation, MS Excel, PI Process Book, TDC Control System, and process simulators.
Follow safe work practices while maintaining quality.
Support turnaround/maintenance activities.
Effectively evaluate economics to determine profitable unit operation modes.
Participate in Process Hazard Analyses and define small non-capital projects.
Assist in various engineering calculations as needed.
