Job summary

SoundOff Signal is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering leader to oversee the planning, execution, and on-time delivery of hardware programs. You will drive development plans, coordinate with program managers, and ensure milestones are met from ideation through production launch.

You will collaborate across disciplines, manage risks, and communicate status to leadership while using Jira, Jama Connect, and other PM tools to keep teams aligned and delivery-focused.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of embedded hardware or multidisciplinary embedded project leadership with successful product launches.
• Proven ability to manage complex hardware projects with cross-functional teams.
• Be a team player with practical, hands-on experience and aptitude.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts through drawings and charts for communication.
• Experience with project management tools and software (Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, etc.).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and M365 Copilot.
• Experience with Jama Connect (or similar) for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Identify and remove roadblocks to support timely project completion.

• Monitor progress with weekly/monthly reporting, risk management, and performance metrics.
• Facilitate cross-functional coordination meetings.
• Develop supplier agreements, schedules, acceptance criteria, and deliveries.

General Position Overview

This role is part of the Product Development Electrical Engineering team and is responsible for overseeing planning, execution, and on-time delivery of electrical hardware projects.

Essential Job Functions

Demonstrates SoundOff Signal's Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.

Develops and maintains embedded electrical hardware development plans including scope, objectives, timelines, resourcing, and metrics.

Responsible for supporting the development of electrical hardware projects throughout their development lifecycle - from ideation through production launch.

Supports the electrical engineering team in completing assigned project work on time by identifying and removing roadblocks.

Coordinates with Program Managers, project managers and a multi-disciplinary engineering team to achieve program goals, milestones, and deliveries.

Monitors project progress and status including weekly and monthly reporting, risk management, and project performance / timing metrics to engineering leadership.

Facilitates cross-functional coordination meetings.

Develops and maintains technology and hardware supplier development agreements, schedules, acceptance criteria, and deliveries.

Job Requirements

Must Have:

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in embedded electrical hardware or multidisciplinary embedded project leadership, with a proven history of successful product launches.
• Proven ability to manage complex hardware projects with cross-functional teams.
• Be a team player with practical, hands-on experience and aptitude.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to explain complex concepts, through drawings and charts, as an effective means of communication.
• Ability to clearly and concisely communicate project technical and schedule risks to organization stakeholders.
• Experience with project management tools and software (Jira, Microsoft Project, Smartsheets, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook, M365 Copilot.
• Experience with Jama Connect (or similar software tool) for requirements management.

Nice to Have:

• Experience managing outside suppliers of hardware design services.
• Experience managing hardware development teams working alongside software teams executing projects in an Agile development environment.
• Technical training, i.e., SAE lighting requirements, SAE vehicle specifications, automotive OEM requirements, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
• Experience working with on-site electronic manufacturing and assembly teams.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.

Must be able to handle and work with small parts.

Working Conditions

Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment

Fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting

Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required

Hybrid work location (mixture of onsite and offsite days in a week).

Primarily normal business hours with the ability to occasionally flex hours.
