Job description

Experienced Electrical Engineer to design and develop hardware for complex electrical and optomechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. Responsible for design of new embedded electronics boards for precision electromechanical systems, electronics architecture design for new products, and troubleshooting of electronics issues in existing products.

A successful employee in this role will work closely with the entire engineering team to develop electrical hardware meeting system requirements and design specifications. The selected candidate will also lead projects in which they will analyze complex issues, determine the best methodologies, and contribute to all aspects of system development, test, and manufacturing.

They should be comfortable operating independently and with minimal direct supervision in a fast-paced and highly technical, collaborative, multi-disciplined environment. The EE Lead must be a high energy self-starter, with strong desire to bring success to assigned projects and other opportunities necessary to realize company growth.

Required Skills/Experience
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 5-10 years relevant experience. Additionally, MS a plus
  • Full design cycle responsibility from circuit design, schematic capture, layout, board bring-up, debug, manufacturing, and qualification. Also including all associated documentation
  • Strong data analytics and systems troubleshooting ability
  • Experience with engineering workflows including: requirements capture, analysis, flow-down, development, manufacturing, as well as testing/verification
  • Creation and maintenance of engineering documentation for systems in development and through to production
  • Ability to handle aggressive deadlines with agility utilizing a results driven approach
  • Highly skilled in data analysis and effective reporting of problems, as well as solutions, through written and/or graphical formats
  • Effective interaction with other team members as well as individuals in other disciplines and organizations
  • Efficient presentation of information to all levels within the organization including peers and managers and also external clients, customers, and the general public
Desired Skills/Experience
  • Architecture of interconnects using common embedded communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, RS232, and RS485
  • Schematic design of small embedded processing boards. Includes processor, memory, peripherals, and power supply stages
  • Video electronics design using CameraLink, HD-SDI, and analog video interfaces
  • Experience with Agile Development is a plus.
  • Systems engineering experience and mindset is a strong plus.
