Cleveland-Cliffs offers an excellent internship program in the steel industry, inviting Electrical Engineering students to gain hands-on experience in maintenance and engineering projects at their Burns Harbor plant. Interns will work with engineering leaders on real-world problems, building professional connections and potential future full-time opportunities.

Qualifications

Enrollment in a BS in Electrical Engineering.
Completion of at least sophomore year by summer 2027.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

Recommend and/or perform predictive, preventative, and emergency maintenance of equipment
Research, design, evaluate, install, modernize, re-design, operate, maintain, and repair machinery and equipment
Resolve equipment malfunctions, including those requiring scheduled shutdowns or breakdown action
Participate in planning, scheduling, and cost control of maintenance/engineering projects
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
Analyze current operating performance and standard operating procedures and make recommendations for improvement
Various other projects as needed to support the business
