Aluminum Dynamics in Columbus, MS is offering an Electrical Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027. You will work with the production and maintenance teams on substation reliability, instrumentation, and control projects on the Cold Mill Department floor.

Interns gain real-world experience by collaborating with operators and engineers, applying engineering principles, and contributing to safety and efficiency improvements in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Strong fundamentals in electrical power systems and controls.
• Willingness to gain hands-on experience on production floor.

Responsibilities

• Assist with substation reliability and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Support safety initiatives, labeling, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Participate in upgrade projects by reviewing diagrams and updating schematics.
• Assist in instrumentation and control projects, including HMIs and logic development.
• Shadow electricians during installations and troubleshooting on site.
